Village Archive

The Archive Collection was established in 1996 and is maintained by a volunteer on behalf of Lindfield Parish Council. It provides a local source of reference material on Lindfield that might not otherwise be generally available. The aim is to create a comprehensive record of Lindfield that covers those aspects of the community’s life, people and development that may be of historical or social interest. The growing collection, with material spanning several centuries, includes: books, documents, articles and press cuttings, maps, photographs, drawings, video recordings and mixed ephemera. However, the strength of the Archive is very dependent upon your contribution of items. If you have anything relating to Lindfield past or present, eg: people, organisations, events, property, etc that you are prepared to donate, or simply loan for copying purposes, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Anything will be considered – please think of the Archive before discarding material that might be of interest. The Parish Council encourages the use of the Archive with access by appointment. Please contact the Parish Office on all matters relating to the Archive Collection.
