I am proud to be the local lad on the Parish Council. Lindfield born and bred. I now live in Pondcroft Cottages with my wife Sue. We have two daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson. Our eldest daughter works for the Environment Agency and our youngest is a teacher at Lindfield Primary School. I was elected on to the Parish Council in 1995. Currently I am Chairman of the Council, I also serve on the Finance and General Purpose Committee, Planning and Traffic Committee and I am Chairman of the Environment and Amenities Committee. I am also the President of The Lindfield Club, Chairman of the King Edward Hall Committee and Lindfield's Harbour Master. In the past I have served on the committee of the Lindfield School PTA, the Bonfire Society and the Horticultural Society. Having recently retired from full time employment I am able to devote more time to the Council. As a Parish Councillor I try to maintain a balance between upholding the traditions of the village and the development of new amenities for the benefit of all of the residents. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and walking.

I was first co-opted onto Lindfield Parish Council in May 2003 and I am Vice Chairman of Council and a member of all three main Committees. I have lived in Lindfield with my husband for the last 32 years, but have had connections here all my life as my mother was born in the village. I am a member of All Saints Church Lindfield, where I am involved in many activities including helping at Noah’s Ark Tots group as well as helping at Good News Club on a Sunday. I recently retired from a full time Nurse Practitioner and a part time Stroke Co-Ordinator post at the Princess Royal Hospital after working in the National Health Service for 44 years. I have returned to the hospital as a volunteer. I enjoy walking, Caravanning and swimming. I represent the Council at Mid Sussex Older Peoples Council (MSOPC); I am now Vice Chairman of MSOPC as well as a Trustee and Director.

I grew up in Mid Sussex and have seen many changes in the area during my lifetime, particularly pressures on the environment and local services, as a result of the increasing population in the area. I spent many years working in local government as a caseworker, so am aware of the challenges facing local councils. I have lived in Lindfield for 34 years. I am retired, and belong to several local groups and organisations, including the U3A.
Since joining the Parish Council in 2019, I have worked with my fellow Councillors to make a difference to the village and its residents. I am an enthusiastic member of the Parish Council's Climate Change Working Group and am proud of the projects I have been involved in to support the aims and objectives of the Lindfield Climate Action Plan..

I moved to Lindfield in 2005 with my husband and now have 2 children, both in local schools. I’m a chartered accountant, after my qualifying with a firm in Lewes I moved to a regional firm managing the audit department. I set up my own practice for small businesses in 2011 which I now run alongside my husband. My children both love sports and our spare time is filled supporting them (and providing transport logistics too!) various cricket, netball and squash matches. I am a member of All Saints Lindfield and served 6 years as the treasurer there. In any left over spare time I enjoy watching most live sport, reading, walking and holidays. I love where I live and feel very lucky to live in Lindfield and am keen to give back by serving on the Parish Council.

I’m Irene Burns and have lived in Compton Road, Lindfield since November 1985. During that time I have seen considerable, mostly positive, changes and expansion but the heart of the village remains a delightful place to live with its charming High Street, thriving retail opportunities, and very friendly community. The need to provide more housing in Lindfield is a challenging question- how to satisfy that desire without losing the character of the village? I am a retired teacher of Design & Technology, having taught at Warden Park Academy, Cuckfield for over 20 years, Tanbridge House School, Horsham and also in my home town of Manchester before settling in Lindfield. Both my children attended Lindfield primary school, before moving onto to Warden Park and Oathall respectively.  I also have two grandsons, the oldest at Oathall, the youngest at Lindfield Primary Academy. My education connection continues with annual exam invigilation sessions in Oathall, and as a voluntary school reader in Uckfield. No surprise then, that I have a deep interest in our local education provision, school amenities and their environment. My leisure interests are Pilates, country walks and painting seascapes. I am a member of Lindfield Artist & Illustrators. I feel honoured to have been elected by my villagers and hope to prove worthy of their trust.

Originally from London, I moved to Sussex in the 90s to study at Sussex Uni and have stayed in the area pretty much ever since. My wife and I now live in Walstead with our two boys, dog and various other animals.
Workwise I am co-founder and director of a web and software development company based in Brighton. In my spare time I am usually out riding my bike, out walking and doing a bit of bird watching or fishing.
We’re privileged to live in such a beautiful place with lovely countryside on our doorstep and plenty of opportunities. I chose to stand for the council because I believe there is more we can do to improve Lindfield and the surrounding area for the people that live and visit here, particularly with regard to sustainable travel and the environment.

My wife and I have loved living in Lindfield for 15 years, between us we volunteer for several local organisations and charities including Wakehurst and Furnihelp Mid Sussex. I am passionate about ensuring that Lindfield is not only a beautiful and sustainable place to live but also for people to visit. Now that I have a bit more time my reasons for standing for election were to enable me to put back my time and skills into the area where we chose to live, representing the residents of Lindfield in the best ways that I can. My career has been spent in local government management either directly employed or via my own company. I am a Human Resources professional and specialise in health and safety.
