I have lived in Lindfield for about 20 years with Mary and our four children.  Now in my fourth term as a Councillor, I have also been a school governor at Lindfield schools and Haywards Heath College for over 10 years.  Currently I serve on the Finance and General Purposes Committee and the Environment and Amenities Committee, as these committees reflect my local interests of finance, marketing and the environment.  I have a varied work background encompassing several industries from the private sector and spent over 10 years working in local government.  I can often be found fulfilling my ‘labourer’ duties on the Denmans Lane allotment site.

I am proud to be the local lad on the Parish Council.  Lindfield born and bred.  I now live in Pondcroft Cottages with my wife Sue.  We have two daughters and one granddaughter, our eldest daughter works for the Environment Agency and our youngest is a teacher at Lindfield Primary School.  I was elected on to the Parish Council in 1995.  Currently I am Chairman of the Council, I also serve on the Finance and General Purpose Committee, Planning and Traffic Committee and I am Chairman of the Environment and Amenities Committee.  I am also the President of The Lindfield Club, Vice Chairman of the King Edward Hall Committee and Lindfield's Harbour Master.  In the past I have served on the committee of the Lindfield School PTA, the Bonfire Society and the Horticultural Society.  Having recently retired from full time employment I am able to devote more time to the Council.  As a Parish Councillor I try to maintain a balance between upholding the traditions of the village and the development of new amenities for the benefit of all of the residents.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and walking.

My wife and I moved into Lindfield about seventeen years ago and I retired from the city after nearly 40 years as an IT Support Manager for a leading bank in 2001.  Since then I have undertaken a number of roles in the voluntary sector, including being the past Secretary of the Lindfield Preservation Society, Treasurer of Voluntary and Steam Preservation organisations and I am a working member of the Bluebell Railway.  I am currently the Vice Chairman of the Planning and Traffic Committee and I am also a member of the Finance and General Purposes and Environment and Amenities Committees.

I have lived in Haywards Heath for about thirty years and moved to Lindfield in 2005.  I spent my working life as a company secretary with major companies.   I retired from my last job as Group Secretary in financial services with the M&G Group PLC and then spent several years working as a business consultant for the Institute of Directors.  Locally, I am Secretary of the Lindfield Bowling Club and Treasurer of the Lindfield Club.  My interests include bowls, cycling, walking, music and current affairs.  Now that I am fully retired, I would like to become more involved in village affairs and wish to put my skills to good use with the Parish Council.

I have been a Lindfield Parish Councillor since 1999, serving on the Planning and Traffic Committee and Environment and Amenities Committees during this time.  My further commitment within the community of Lindfield village is through serving Coombers Charity, set up many years ago for the benefit of village residents.
I was a school governor for Lindfield Primary School for over ten years.  I also represent the residents of Lindfield as one of the District Councillors, which enables me to have a greater overview in respect of strategic planning issues for the benefit of Lindfield residents.

I have been a Lindfield resident for 36 years with my wife Carolyn and our two children. I am a member of Environment and Amenities Committee and the Financial and General Purposes Committee.

My career covered many aspects of technical, commercial and general management, designing and developing medical plastic devices. Now, when not attending to Council business can usually be found working as a volunteer on the Bluebell Railway, tending my allotment or walking the open spaces and sailing the coast of the South of England.

I was first co-opted onto Lindfield Parish Council in May 2003 and I am a member of all three main Committees.  I have lived in Lindfield with my husband for the last 24 years, but have had connections here all my life as my mother was born in the village.  I am a member of Lindfield Evangelical Free Church, where I am involved in many activities including running a children’s club as well as a Tots group.  I recently retired from a full time Nurse Practitioner and a part time Stroke Co-Ordinator post at the Princess Royal Hospital after working in the National Health Service for 44 years. I have returned to the hospital  as a volunteer.  I enjoy walking.
